It's been a long time since we've spoken, but I have received some work from Solana Beach that I would like to share with everybody! I was wondering for some time why I was not receiving feedback from them, but it turned out they had some technical difficulties with their internet.

Chime In La Clase Mágica Fall/Otoño 2010

Hey all at La Clase Mágica, isn’t it great to be back?! ¿Y que, no me van a saludar???


Look everyone, el otoño is a perfect time to reflect on the changes de la naturaleza. The autumn leaves turn into bellisimos colores of warm browns and orange. And it’s that time of year when we return para iniciar one more year of learning.


¿Quieren saber what’s in store for us? Estoy seguro que habrá many fantastic things to explore. So don’t miss out on anything. No se pierdan ningun detalle.


One more thing… de verdad, I really want to hear from you. Escriban, and let me know if any of you will become one of my Wizard Assistants this year.

We're nearing the last stretch... I can't believe we started back in the Fall and now we're here in the middle of Spring. Look how together we've come such a long way. ¡Hemos progresado mucho!

During this time I know you've been doing a lot of creative things. So I am very, very proud of you.

Please let me know what you think has been the best LCM activity you've participated in. But don't just say:  ___(some)____activity.  Give me details of how you played this activity.  And I especially want to know why you liked doing this activity.

How am I ever going to know if you don't tell me these things?  That's what friends are for ¿qué no?

I hope that all of you received the letter I sent you today! I'm soo excited to start working on our video project. Here is one idea to help us make our video! 

Check out this cool online tool where todos mis amiguitos can learn to write Diamante Diamond poems...  http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/diamante/

These are diamond-shaped poems that describe either one central topic or two opposing topics (for example, night/day or winter/summer). Diamante poems follow a specific format that uses nouns on the first and last lines, adjectives on the second and fourth lines, and gerunds in the third and fifth lines. This tool has numerous word-study applications that you can use to make your poems. 

Start by reading some examples of Diamante online by clicking on "See Answer". After you can go back to the main page to click "Get Started". You can write poems about anything you want!, but here are some ideas to help you get started...

Write about your familia, tu cultura, your favorite sports, your friends, or write about ME, el maga ;)

Amiguitos can ask the undergrads to print their finished Diamante Diamond poems and then send them to ME and I will start making our video!

Hola amiguitos de Orange Place!

It's been a long time! Los niños de Casa familiar y Solana Beach have been catching up with me, y pues, I’d like to hear what you've also been up to. :)

It's almost March, and that means la primavera is getting closer. Time to get active! Enjoy todas las frutas that are harvested in the spring, like fresas y sandía. mmm!

I just got back from rock climbing in El Potrero Chico which is in Hidalgo,Mexico. ¡Muy emocionante!

2. describe how it looks like

3. tell me what do you think it likes to do and finally...

4. would YOU buy that animal (will you parents let you buy it ;) )

Ok, vamanos, can't wait to see what you have!! oh, and if you don't like the image you find, draw your own.

I'm still waiting for more responses from my last post!! I want to hear what all of my amiguitos are thinking, and that means YOU!

Hola Solana Beach!

Hola again!

I'm SOO glad to hear from all of you at La Clase Magica Solana Beach. Me gustan todas las respuestas. I'm amazed that all of you know so much about the Internet!

Lucila wanted to know how I got lost in the Internet. The story is really silly... When I went on vacation last summer, I went for an Internet surf all the way to the end of the digital universe (my family owns a nice little farm house in Wiki-sconsin).

When I was coming back home to La Clase Magica, I took a wrong turn on the Internet highway and ended up getting stuck in Junk Mail-aysia!!! Someone asked me to give them my email account and password, but it turned out to be a Scam!

That place was full of computer viruses, but I finally found my way back to my Homepage here at the El Maga Blog. So I warn you, be careful when opening your email, and always keep an eye out for Junk Mail or YOU too might get stuck in Junk Mail-aysia!!!

Remember that the Internet isn't always a safe place. Everybody who has the privilege of using the Internet should be responsible in everything that they do!

Also, I was so happy to hear from Joselin too! It's been soo long since we talked last! I'm sorry we can't do online chat anymore, but I still want to hear more about you and Judy!

Also, tell Jazmine that I took her advice and went to http://www.GirlsGoGames.com/ !!! It was soooo much fun! I wonder if she could tell me more about things she likes to do at La Clase Magica?

For those of you who have never met me, HOLA!, yo soy El Maga. I am the electronic entity who created La Clase Mágica :) y todos ustedes son mis amiguitos. For those of you who remember me from last year, siento que desde hace mucho tiempo no hemos charlado, pero, I have been lost in the INTERNET!

Picture Assignment

Alright, this is another assignment the participants did. They were suppose to take just random pictures and from those pictures formulate a story in a timeline and present it through a PowerPoint.

When the Digital Literacy hub was at Los Robles in Vista, I did this assignment with the youth there and they seemed to enjoy it. If this interests you, this could be a potential activity.
